Little update

I'm sitting on my couch right now watching Dexter with a friend. I've got this ranging excitement bubbling up inside of my stomach. We will be moving by the end of the month. The big thing that excites me is that I'll have so much free space to craft. I'm looking forward to it. A new kitchen to bake in. A new backyard to try to garden in, so much options for this new home. My mom deserves this. So soon, there will be pictures of the house. Each room we paint, and everything.

I made a hat

So I recently tried to make a beanie for my cousin. Some how, it turned into this hat. I think watching tv and trying to crochet at the same time is not good. Haha. But I'm still very proud of the hat I managed to make. I am just getting addicted to crafting, I must say, it has become more addicting than reading. I recently found a neat website that gives you ideas on things to make using items that should cost you a dollar or less. Dollar Store Crafts has so many amazing crafts! I mean, I think I've already found about six ideas on what I want to do next, and a ton of Christmas gifts I can't wait to start making! Ugh, I think this little crafting habit of mine is going to get out of control soon. Haha. I don't mind though. I'd rather be sitting down with my little crochet needle and yarn listening to the conversations going on between everyone in my house. I also got my little sister into crocheting. I told her it has helped me mentally as a relaxation tool and that it might help her as well. She is making a scarf. Its pretty. She is much better than I was when I first tired.

My first Crochet project

This weekend was on of the first weekend i've had free in a long time. So I decided to pick up a new hobby and start crocheting. I've never ever crocheted anything more than a chain. So I sat down and started fidgeting around with a needle and yarn. I went to the internet and started searching websites for something I wanted to try. I found a brain slug on a nifty site called Hook and Needle. It came with easy to follow steps, or, at least, easy for people who know what the heck 6 sc means. >.< I didn't know what in the word the instructions were trying to tell me. So I looked at the picture, and just went for it. I had help from my mother, she showed me how to do a few stitches and helped me with the antenna balls. I'm really proud of it. I never thought I'd finish something, and have fun while doing it. I can't wait to start my next project. I'm hoping it will be just as fun, and maybe i'll be able to learn just what all the abbreviations mean. =]

My first Blog

I always complain to myself and my very few friends, that if I had the time to, i'd blog all the time. I can add crafting to the the things I wish I had more time to do. And baking. Goodness, there is so much I want to do, but have to hold off on thanks to my school schedule. I'm growing excited thinking of all the things I can learn to do. My baking has improved from more than just frying to dough, to actually putting together a decent carrot cake cupcake with cream cheese filling. I want to take up sewing, not to make a ball gown, just to make some adjustments to my current clothing. I need to learn how to crochet, this is something I wont let myself slip on. I'll be posting pictures of every little crafting thing I do on this from now on. =] I think keeping up with this blog will give me a sense of peace with accomplishing things.
